K04 install
I am not ASE certified and this is not based on any manuel but it worked for me. If you ruin your engine its not my fault.
Tools required: 7mm5mm12mm nut drivers8mm10mm12mm17mm19mm socketsu-joint(helpful)12mm17mm(the curved kind would be best)19mm(3/4 will work)wrenchs5mm7mm allensphillipsquarter
ramps or jackstandsfunnel2 buckets for coolant and oil(good time to chage oil since your draining it anyway)
1. get the car up on ramps or jackstands.
2. remove plastic parts the engine and airbox cover will pop off. The bottom fairing and engine cover have some screws that get a half turn and come right out you can use a quarter for this.
3. If the car is cool it would be a good time to drain the oil(19mm) and coolant there is a clip that holds a coolant sensor in place near the bottom drivers side of the radiator remove it. I put a hand towel around the opening to direct the coolant into the bucket. Reach into the towel and pull out the sensor. while the bucket is under the oil drain remove the 2 10mm bolts that attatch the turbos oil return to the sump(it takes awhile for the oil to drain from the turbo)
4. pull the plastic inlet tube from the top of the air box then pull it out of the grill inlet. undo the 2 phillips screws and removethe grill inlet. there is a metal tube that runs along the top drivers side of the airbox undo the 2 clips that hold it in place. use a 7mm nut driver to loosen the clamp that the tube runs to. move the tube out of the way(I put it in front of the engine). remove the rubber boot from the top of the airbox and unclip the harness from the maf sensor(uses the same clips as spark harnesses). push down on the metal clip and slide out the wireharness connector on top of the airbox. remove the turbo inlet hose from the air box w/7mm nut driver. the other small hose has a crimped clamp you will have to slide this off or snip it off and replace with screw clamp(I was able to slide it off and on). undo the 4 clips that hold the top to the bottom. move the other wires off to the side and pull the top of the airbox straight out. undo the 10mm bolt and pull bottom of airbox out.
