Well I've had this car for a bit... Its a 1.8t passat
anywhere to get it chipped around tampa or st pete area??
So far I have only done audio mods. 1 12' eclipse subwoofer, 580 watt dual amp, panasonic HU, and pioneer speakers.

I wouldn't chip until you do a few other things first... Exhaust and intake always help. Then i would drop it and wheels. Chipping would be the last thing on my mind personally. Also look in to regular maintence before chipping such as hoses etc... Boost leaks = bad...

Personally id chip it first then intake because its cheap. Chip is the biggest gain in hp/tq for the money

All the other stuff is alot more money(unless you have the money)
Exhuast/and wheels arnt cheap.

But yea, regular maintence for sure wont cost alot in parts if everything good.

the price might be one of the reasons you do it in another order to.

say no to body kits. if you want exterior do coils and nice wheels, but as for the engine do chip first, then the other things. you wont be sorry. check out either apr, giac, or revo for your chip. then look up there dealers around here on there website. i know fix tuning in st. pete does apr tuning.

well i need styling for the front because the 3 lower grilles are completely taken off and the front bumper is dented in so i wanted to do that anyway. I guess I can just go to a junkyard and find a front bumper to but there since the kits dont look too good

Been a long time since I was on here, I even forgot my login and password!!

Anyway, congrats on the passat!! I agree with Lantern, First things you need to check is the vac lines!! Pref the ones going and coming from the Diverter Valve!! Next chabge the stock 710a dv to either the 710n(audi tt model) or a forge, etc. The 710n is around $40.00 and will hold boost fine if you're chipped!! I've been eunning one for 3 years and still peak at 19 psi! Also, get yourself a boost guage!!! That way you can monitor you rpsi and hg levels accordingly.... Do these first before chipping! The passat 1.8t's also have some sludge issues..... Remember mobil 1 syn oil. Best thing to do is drop the oil pan and check for any sludge, etc. If you have it, there's something called auto r/x that works wonders for this issue!! As far as chips go...... $500 for a 1.0 bar is the norm.... Giac, apr, wett are the brands of choice! I personally have giac because Suncaost in sarasota does this at their dealership!! I don't know the prices now, but shouldn't be more than $550 flashed!! In and out in 30 minutes

like someone said earlier, fixx tuning in st. pete does it 727-388-6960. and while your at it check out vwfixx.com (its another vw forum).

as far as body styling goes...i would look for 4motion lips (front & rear), OEM+ stuff...and def. look into dropping it a bit. if you don't have the money for coilovers then you can look into a cupkit...cupkits are a tad better than a spring & shock combo because they are designed to work together, instead of throwing something together but it all depends on how much money you want to spend.

Screw cupkits... They are effectve if you wanna buy something temporary but i would save and get the coils! Slam it and then check out vortex for some wheels and then outside is done! As for the body kit...NO! Pic up a oem bumper and lip and leave it that way!!!
