Okay i have a 2002 GTI with a 1.8T.

my check engine light is always on only because im running rich.

about once a week my car will die as im driving and then wont restart for about 10 - 15 min. When i turn the key to the on position but not starting it my check engine light wont even come on. so if i leave it off for a few min then turn the key on the check engine light comes on and the car will start. When it does this my check engine light will stay off for a few days then it will come back. Does anyone have a clue as to what this will be.

Do any other lights come on when the CEL doesn't? Is your MAF plugged in?

When it dies, what is the oil temp at?

The oil temp is fine. When the check engine light dosent come on. The rest like the epc and all come on like normal. And my maf is plugged in.

Your in trouble when your check engine like goes out.. Mines runnin good when its on

what mods do u have?

APR chip and stage 3 turbo upgrade. 3" turbo back exhaust. Theres more but as far as engine work goes this would be it.

do u have a diffrent bov of diverter?? bec when i put a greddy bov on mine it kinda did the same thing bec it wasnt recirculating any more(refurring to the shutting off and not starting again) but with ur check engine light coming on and off idk.

can anyone reccomend a good shop to take a look at this. I would prefer someone that has experience with APR. Im pretty new to veedubs so i dont really know what direction to head.

like today i drove to work and my check engine light is on again. i went to discount auto and the only code its throwing is saying im running rich.
