Default ARG, driving me nuts

I just purchased a 95 GTi 2.0, but am unsure of how to determine if it is the 8v or 16v variant. Are there any distinguishing features between the two that are outwardly noticeable? I am just starting to learn more about the technical side of things when it comes to vehicles, so a "For Dummies" kind of guide would be handy.

I cannot seem to find it on Vortex or in any of the sites listed in the Directory thread.

Thanks in advance.

How would that even be possible? 6 bores in the block with 16 valves would equal 2.66 valves per cylinder.
