24v tuning
Anyone know the RPM "switchpoint" for VVT on the 24v? Also, what total timing are people using? I am tuning this car all motor . . . no boost yet.

Not sure about when the variable timing kicks in and to be honest, I don't know of very many all motor 24V's. I think most software does a max advance of about 10-12 degrees of timing, not positive on that though. Your best bet for some nice gains is get an R32 head. The ports are significantly larger than the 2.8 24V.

I've been doing some reading on that. . . for some reason, i'm more excited about building this 24v NA than another 12vt. . .
Timing sounds about right. . .I spoke with a guy the other day with an R32 that's at 35deg total timing up top... with 12:1 compression at that. This should be interesting to drive.

Well, after researching, I found out that it's not a 'switchpoint' like "VTEC" or the like, but rather an infinitely variabled program in the map. Also, both cams are independently controlled by the ECU.
