Default 99 beetle oil pan

Just a quick question for you VW katz. I'm trying to replace my girlfriends oil pan on her manual 99 VW beetle 2.0 and I was wondering if there was anyway to do it without disconnecting the transmission and taking off the flywheel. She drove over a concrete pad with the left overs of a street light when leaving a gas station if anyone was wondering rotflmao i'm just hoping this will be less of a pain in the ass. i really dont want to disconnect all this crap to take off the oil pan. I have tried using a universal on a 1/4" and 3/8" ratchet to try and make room to get behind the flywheel. any suggestions are much appreciated.
thanks ahead of time,
-Tony

You don't have to remove anything but the plastic covers on the underside of the car to remove the oilpan no matter if alum or steel.
bolts are 10mmwith an inner hex of 5mm best tool for the bolts on the end by the trans is a long 5mm hex with a ball tip and 1/4" extenstion and slowness. these are very easy to strip and if you do, NOW you have to remove the trans. good luck!!

P.S. use no air tools on oil pan bolts for ANY reason. you WILL regret it.
