My sister just bought an 02 Jetta, and when we took it home after test driving it we heard a gurgling noise coming from the gas tank. It stops after like 10 minutes of it sitting though. (not on)

Any ideas?

 

fill it up and run the tank out and then fill it up again and see if it still makes the noise..i dont know what it could be..maybe something with your floater?

I doubt it's anything to worry about.

It's Probably just the Fuel Pressure Purging itself out.
It's just more noticable when the car in in a garage or quiet parking place.
Every car and bike (that is electronic fuel injected) makes that sound a couple minutes after turning the vehicle off.

It makes a faint buzzing sound for a couple seconds.......waits a few minutes...Then does it again?
