EPC light???????
My friend was cruising down the road at 80 mph in 6th gear when he went to put it in cruise control and his EPC light turned on and his car went into limp mode. He has a B6 A4 2004. He couldnt rev or go any higher than 1000rpms in gear. Everything was fine after he pulled over and turned his car off and back on again. But what could of been the problem to do this? Any advise is appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Not sure, but the EPC is for engine electronics so it has to be an electrical problem. If you know somebody witha Vag-com the should be able to pull the code that caused the EPC light to come on and that may lead you in the right direction.
Edit- I know VW's can have the brake light switch fail sometimes, this will trip the EPC light, and supposedly your cruise control might not work. Not sure if this is the case for Audi's, but if his brake light switch wasn't working, and he tried to set the cruise it may have caused it to go into limp mode when it detected 2 errors. My brake light switch failed for about 2 hours once, EPC light came on, but the car ran fine, next morning the EPC went off and everything was fine.

My brake light switch actually did break a few days ago and i drove around with the insane beeping till I figured out it was the switch. Electronic problems are just a mystery sometimes. Damn volkswagen and there "psychic hand reader" caliber of general information they give you when somethings wrong
