You'd be much safer just buying a chip from one of the tuning companies. check out www.fixxtuning.com they do GIAC chips and they're local.

Plus, unless you know what you're doing, the profec b spec 2 can be very hard to set up. Save yourself the hassle and get a chip. As for your second question, there is no set answer for that.
