I’m looking at buying a 02 1.8t Jetta. Its mostly going to be a daily driver, I might do some light modding. I just wanted to know any problems to look out for.

 

I think you should look at buying an 01 Jetta... mine, lol.

Anyway look out for the window regulators, rear brakes and coil packs.

Coil packs and regulators will be done by the dealer for no charge but the brakes you'll have to cover(mine needed to be replaced at 25k)

 

Make sure it doesn't have a 1.8t under the hood, that would be the biggest problem I would try to avoid.

 

I checked it has a 1.8t what should I do to fix it.

 

get a vr6

to bad i have been beatin up on 1.8's..only have gotten beat by one so far..but then again i havent raced any really modded ones..

 

I would get a VR6 but hearing the turbo spool up got me hooked.

 

You should hear one with a turbo that is bigger than a lego.
