Default I'm really pissed

Ok, so today i was in brandon giving my friend a ride to an auto place, and when i got there, i shut my car off, and when i went to turn it back on, it wouldnt start. the battery was dead, no big deal, got a new one in there, and now it cranks but it still wont start. i think the ECU is in some kind of safe mode and not letting it start. the car is an 00' golf 1.8t. does anyone know what the hell to do to make a 1.8t start after changing a battery!?!?!? please help!

Check your connections again, then find someone with a vag-com to check the codes.

I feel your pain. Post the question on other sites(I would stay away from vortex) I know it's a golf, but try clubb5.com(passat) and sflb5.com for locals. They're both vw's.Better yest, I'll post it for ya.

Icm is a last resort, if it's a manual, try to push start it. Hope this helps.

Don't ever try to push start a new car, it will be fudged. Push starting only works on old cars.

tried push starting it, wouldnt work. reeves said it's the ECM (ECU) and the radio might be bad too. they ordered it yesterday and it came in today, not sure whether it'll be done today or not. either way im pissed. what probably happened is that the battery was dead to begin with, but when we were trying to jump it, we fried the computer with too much juice. and now the radio is probably fried too. so hopefully this doesnt turn into a big cost issue. luckily, the car is under warranty for another 2,000 miles, phew. ill keep everyone updated, having no car blows.
