Sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been busy, I did live on shade and bee ridge but moved, stalker( j/k), and it has been to suncoast for a recall on the window thingys, andf as for the whole story this is how it goes; I had just dropped my girl off at work and was headed over to my moms, cause she was going to give me a ride to buy another car. I was headed through the nieghborhood (sp) and noticed like 6 people crammed into a Del Sol, so I'm like WTF and turn around for just a second , well when I turned back around I was already going threw a stop sign and as I was looking to make sure nobody was coming I saw the school bus but by now it was too late to stop. I was exactly like that P.O.D video, but I knew I couldn't stop and I knew I couldn't beat it, its really amazing how fast my mind raced through all tese options before picking one. So when I realized that there was nothing I could do but get hit I slammed the brakes jerked the wheel and closed my eyes. It didn't really hurt at all but I wasn't the one I was worried about my three year old son and one year old daughter were in the back, before the car had even stopped I had my seltbelt off and was opening the door to get out. I had to shut the engine off, it was still running, I couldn't believe it, but I shut it off cause I didn't know what was leaking and didn't want to take anymore chances. When I finally got out of the car I was so worried as to what I would see in the back seat that I almost didn't want to go in after them, but I knew I had to, so I did and thankfully they were both fine. My son had woken up only after I had gotten out of the car in such a panic and my daughter was still asleep. My son started screaming when he saw that the window was smashed in, and daughter was just pissed that I was waking her from her violently peaceful slumber. After we were all out of the car people naturally focked to us and were all very helpful. All three of us were covered in a fine powder of glass, that itched horribly. I was looking for my phone that was in my lap at the time that the accident happened, so I looked all around for it but couldn't find it untill the state trooper that responded asked the to get my registration, as I was prying my glove box open I noticed that my phone was in the passenger door compartment cover with glass. I called my mom she came and got my kids so they could be bathed. I had to stay and fill out paper work and sh!t, so the only marks I had on me were from scratching arms so hard that I rubbed the glass into my skin and cut my arms all up. Now I know I was at fault and I should pay more attention when I am driving and that me and my kids are lucky to have survived unscaved but the one thing that really pissed my off was that even though the bus driver had a clear view of me he never once tryed to surve and didn't brake at all he was all the way down to the next intersection before he even stopped, I know that I need to improve my driving skills but I'm 21 this bus driver is 54 and has little kids lives in his hands everyday, it is his job to drive and he sucks at it, maybe I'm being a dick but I think that maybe if this guy would have pulled his head out of his ass for a minute my car could have been saved or if someone would have been in the passenger seat and die or at least seriously injured, it could have saved them. I know that nothing excusses me from not paying attention but I have avoid a crap load of accidents that weren't my fault with defensive driving, and I think if this guy would have exercised some of those skills he could have saved us both alot of grief. Sorry no clue what junkyard it went to.
