2001 jetta vr6 brake light question
was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this problem : the brake lights arent working.. but when i turn the lights on they work when i press the brake they dont work.. is it a fuse problem? can anyone tell me how to fix it... i went to volkswagon to check it out but they want to 90 bucks just to check it out. thanks
i have a 2001 jetta 1.8t and i got a notice from vw usa and they recalled the brake light switch for that year jetta..some cars have the prob and some dont..take it to the dealership and they will fix it for free...maybe i should do that before mine goes out!!....
Yeah, if it works when you turn it on, its not a bad fuse. You know germans though. Electrical problems galore. I have a 98 Passat and funny, one of the only things that arent a problem is electrical...

If you can't get it to work. Go to European Autohaus, they charge you to look at it, but unlike VW the money you put down for them to look at it, they put towards fixing it. So you essentially you make a down payment and they fix it, no extra costs. They do great work too.
