Default buying a 92 jetta?

I am in the market and found what I wanted. But I have no clue what the possibilities are? Its Compakt's old 4 door that I am purchasing. Any advice on a build-out???

have you checked the MKII forums on vwvortex? there is some good info there.
You can do VR6, 1.8t, 8vT, 16vT, TDI conversions, many possiblities

theres a lot of swaps that you can do with that platform. what is in it now is probably not worth bothering with, it is the slow 2.0 engine.

as a daily driver, it seems to be fine, but if you are planning on making it fast i would suggest looking into swapping in a 1.8t and doing all those fun upgrades.

16v, or a VR6 swap would do you fine....or just work with the platform you have in the car now, 8v turbo's are a blast.

A new rolling shell would help you out as well.

well whatever problems there are with the car would most likely be solved if and when the motor is swaped. the car ran fine the last time i heard, but if you can get the car for under 1000, buy it and swap the motor for a 16v or a vr6.

lets not forget the good ole G60 swap . if its a 90-92 8v it will bolt and plug right in . probably the easiest swap you can do . the 1.8t swaps envolve tonsssssssss of wiring . the vr6 swap envolves a bit of wiring also but isnt nearly as bad as the 1.8t . definatly check out www.vwvortex.com . i will be parting out a corrado soon that had a g60 in it that laid down 178hp and 182 footpounds of torque to the wheels . lemme know if you are interested . i could help you with the swap and could probably be done over the weekend . shoot me a email at soxs79@yahoo.com
