Default Gti? Vr6?

What does GTI stand for? and what does VR6 stand for, if anyone knows let me know what the G the T and the I stand for in GTI and what the V and the R stand for in VR6, thanks

VR6 stands for Versatile Racing 6... It's the model after the VR5, which followed the VR4, etc, etc. Personally, I like the VR2 the best.

Reihenmotor being German for "inline motor". Or "in a row".

Which obviously refers to the VR6's unique 15 degree angle placing the V shape to an almost inline one but keeping it compact like a V as well.
