You can go the typical bolt on route with intake, cams, exhaust, etc., or you can go to VF-Engineering and pick up a supercharger kit for that engine. You can also get a lot info and answers if you go check out VW Vortex, and in particular the 24v forum. ('20-newer VR6's are 24v, '01-older are 12v VR6's)

As of right now the only real bolt on FI mod you can do without spending crazy amounts of money is a VF-Engineering supercharger. Their stage one charger kit runs for 4g's, and puts the pouwer to 252hp at the wheels. They have a stage 3 kit in the works that @10psi will deliever 300+ whp. As for turbos, the only company that produces a kit yet is HPA motorsports, they sell a turbo kit that retails for about 8g's, but puts over 300hp to the ground. HPA is also known for their TT kit for the 24valve VR6 that puts out over 600hp, its my wish list at an ultra low price of 26grand thats not including the 4motion drivetrain which is highly reccommended. Your best bet is VWVortex. If you have any other questions IM me at IndigoBGTIVR6 and I'll try to help you out.
