I've been to Deadwood and to Mount Mariah Cemetery where Wild Bill was buried the second time. Wild Bill's body had mineralized between his first and second burial and his body weighed about 500 pounds by the time of the second burial. Calamity Jane was buried close to Wild Bill many years later. Calamity Jane was nothing to look at. She was a mule whacker ( Drove wagons pulled by mules) and an alcoholic. Wild Bill was killed the year of the Battle of the Rose Bud and the Battle of the Little Big Horn. The Sioux were a big threat with Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Chief Gall, American Horse and other leaders and the Battle of the Little Big Horn was the beginning of the end of the plains Indians. Soon after 1876 the Sioux and other plains Indians were on reservations or dead.
