In this extended interview, legendary film and television icon Sir Roger Moore discusses his early career, his success with The Saint, and reflects on taking on the role James Bond. From his earliest days in live television, through misgivings about the role Ivanhoe, to his perfectly cast take on Simon Templar in The Saint, the cult 007 star discusses his early career with characteristic charm and in-depth insight into the world of the 1960s British industry. Recorded in 2006, many moments from this interview have remained unseen until now.

How did James Bond meet Moneypenny? Where were the exotic locales of The Saint filmed? How did the Muppets compare to his other co-stars? What did he feel about stepping into the shoes of Sean Connery and George Lazenby? How did Oliver Reed almost do himself in for the sake of a memorable performance? The Saint ran on ITV between 1962 and 1969 and was a worldwide hit, featuring the exploits of a modern day Robin Hood who robbed from evil doers, protected the powerless and dispensed justice using methods the conventional authorities could not.

The series bolstered Sir Roger Moore's star name and setting him up for a future as James Bond. Based on the literary character created by Leslie Charteris, the series was devised for television by Robert S. Baker and Monty Berman and produced for Lew Grade's ITC.

The real one was at Preston Henn's Swap Shop Museum along with a bunch of racing cars and memorabilia. The museum also had several full size driveable cars from the movie "Cars". It was an all day trip.

Sure, the Aston Martin DB5 gets all the attention among James Bond fans, but there were many, many other vehicles used in the franchise. For example, this Lotus Esprit S1 that’s built for water adventures.



“Wet Nellie,” as it’s called, appeared in the 1977 film, “The Spy Who Loved Me.” Lotus supplied two complete vehicles and seven shells, with this being in the latter category.



The seller bought the car in 2007 and displayed it in PowerPark, which bills itself as Finland’s “biggest amusement park.” Last summer, the Lotus started undergoing a restoration that included a partial repaint.
