Marriage is taken too lightly by people who enter to it, the prevalence of divorce can be attributed to the rise of individualism and selfishness in modern society. People use divorce as a easier way out when they are not prepared to make the sacrifices in relationship or when it becomes too much work. Older generations understood the importance of staying together to work things out, made for more stable society. The hollywood stereotype of the seductress felt a bit hackneyed though. Having a ceremony like the one in the movie is not entirely unjustifiable when it forces people confront with their own selfishness in the light of day when they have to address a whole audience of their friends.
