+javi m Rockabily's roots aren't in Mexico. That's just a fact. Latino's are into it, had groups back in the day, and are authentic fans and musicians. To say rockabilly originated in Mexico is just not historically correct. It's also not to say that Latino's didn't play good rockabilly music. Did mariachi (Is that what it is called? The three annoying guys that come over to your table in a Mexican restaurant playing their instruments when you're trying to eat. I;m polite, whatever, but that always annoyed the shit out of me.) have it's root in the USA? No. Actually that's a bad analogy.

love this vid! But I don't like all of the rules that are implied. I use a water based pomade and drive a Honda. It doesn't make me any less rockabilly. It's mainly about embracing the culture and the music.

They all sound like a bunch of hipsters lol. Rockabilly isn't about wearing 50's clothes or owning 50's furniture or all that shit, it's about enjoying the music and the style. I consider myself rockabilly and I don't own an old hot rod or 50s underwear or furniture or whatever. It's just all about making the style your own and bopin to some guitar, slap bass and drums
