He was one of the original showman of Drag Racing back then and set the bar for all to follow. The VERY first race I ever attended I took a photo of him racing. The second, I had the photo with me and he kindly signed it and took a picture with me! I was probably 8-9 at the time. Last I saw him was 1976....he asked if I still had the photos. He was a showman and a very nice man to his fans.
