Several years ago Cops raided a building. I forgot why. I think it was drug related. They told everybody to stop moving and to drop everything in there hands. This one guy would not stop moving and kept reaching under the sofa for something. Cops gave him several warnings to stop. Guy would not stop. Cops open fire and killed him..

Do you think the cops were justified in doing so ??

 

imo non lethal force could have been used. such as a shot into his arm or leg. this is what cops are trained to do. sadly, they shoot to kill most of the time.

 

Man in Black. I was a police officer in the Military. I also served in the Reserves with many Law enforcement officers in the Reserves. My whole unit was nothing but Law Enforcement with a couple of other non law enforcement personal. No cop is trained to shot someone in the arm or leg. We are all trained to shoot Center mass. Whoever said we are trained to shoot in the leg or arm is wrong. This isnt the movies. This is real life.

 

Well your in jail for a reason....most of the time people become non compliant and act like morons.If a cop says to do something and you already in jail fucking listen.Move to a 3rd world country where they will torture you and cut off limbs and let you go(guilty or not)

 

I apolagize for my ignorance as far as the training goes. I simply assumed they were trained to disable.

 

I just read that article. The kid was stupid to Speed up and take off. Then in the parking lot he did something really stupid. Kid hit a cop with his vehicle and you say the cops are wrong for killing this kid after using his vehicle with DEADLY force to escape ? He didn't care who was in his way as long as he escaped. He prob could care less if the deputy died.


The deputies involved in the shooting, David Antolini and Nelson DeLeon, were cleared of wrongdoing by State Attorney Bernie McCabe.

 

Tazers are to disable you. Police officers weapon with real ammo is to defend and protect.

Edit: Man in Black. Just to give you a heads up on the training I went through and the training I went through with the Law Enforcement in my unit....

Tazers are most likely to be used to disable you, To keep you under control, If you are being disrupted (bad sp??) to stop you.


An Officers weapon will be drawn 90% of the time if you have a deadly weapon...

A deadly weapon can be anything from a, Knife, Ice pick, Shovel, Bat, Chain, Chain Saw, vehicle ..... ect ect...

Some deputies that I have seen through real life video brought their tazers out for some1 with rope, shoe, Shoe lace, Rug, Chair, Brushes..... etc.. etc..

 

Your a moron if you think that....anytime a gun is used its considered deadly force...NEVER aim for limbs its not target practice.

Man in Black I am with you on this 100% but if the guy is using a weapon which includes a vehicle and its comming towards the deputy this isnt the movie where the cop jumps over the car or moves out of the way to get unharmed. If the guy has a weapon He already made his choice to kill the cop. I highly doubt the criminal is thinking let me stab him 5 times on the leg and arms to escape.... or let me run him over on his right leg and not kill him so I can escape.. No criminal thinks that way. The other day on youtube I was watching a T.V show that showed this COP pulling over this guy which I think was for speading. Little did the COP know the guy who he pulled over was this 6'3" 240lbs Boxer dude. The COP is like 5'6" 140lbs soak and wet with uniform on. The boxer dude starts to beat the cop up. Punching him, kicking him. T he cop is defending himself with all his might without using force. Then the COP draws his weapon and uses deadly force to stop this guy from killing him. Cop fires about two rounds and the gun jams. They go to floor and the guy beats the cop. Cop manages to escape... Bad guy grabs deputies weapon and starts firing at the cop. Luckly the weapon was jammed. Most likely a stove top jam. That usually happends with hand guns. Cop starts running to elude the guy. Guy and cop start to wrestle and fight again cop grabs weapon and starts pistol whipping him to get him away. This GUY kept comming after the COP.. ALL because the COP pulled him over because he was breaking the LAW.. Was the cop justified in using his weapon???


Edit: COP managed to call for back up and back up arrived. COP lived. So did the guy.
