Yea the motor he tore down was the second motor that they built him after he blew the previous one. Not trying to defend Cartek but this dude is quite the tool. HE blew his original motor and tried to blame Lingerfelter. Then blew the motor Cartek built him with the 572hp dyno sheet and demanded another one. They built him a motor that would be harder for him to destroy and he was mad that it didnt make the same power.

I'm sure there is more than both sides are telling but this dude is trying to make himself out to be an innocent screwed customer when in reality he obviously just doesnt take care of his car well enough.

If he's paying the money to have them rebuilt then whats the problem? And why did they charge him for parts and labor that wasnt done/installed? I'm sure theres 2 sides but how do you explain flat out lying and basiclly stealing this guys money?

 

alot of shops do that . some tuners do it to. just the way it is.

Cartek's story was that once he blew the first one they gave him a warranty and built the second motor to not be as easy to blow. But yea I agree why skimp on the parts at this point. Both sides of the story suck. I just think his side sucks worse....mainly cause he is whiny

 

i would be whiny too if i dropped 20g's on a motor. who wouldnt? do u have 20g's you can splurge on a motor just for "road racing"? cuz i sure as hell dont.

 

What? He just spent $20k on a motor that didn't have the parts he paid for, and didn't produce the power they claimed. I'd be more than whiny. They fucked up his previous motor too, since they put in a bent/warped crank. All his engines blew from a poor build, not from him driving it. As is the nature with these fully built motors, if you miss or skimp out on parts, work, measurements, etc., something is going to fail in the motor. Do you know how difficult it is to blow an LS7? I'm pretty sure Cartek fucked up both times, not that they are a bad shop, but just that he got fucked over both times.

If I'm spending $20k on a motor, not only should it better have the parts I ordered in it, it better hold up to their warranty as well.....no questions asked.

 

Ok negative

The original motor had a camshaft installed my lingerfelter. He blew that motor up. Then came to Cartek for a built motor to his specs for 20k. That motor made 572 or whatever in the original sheet. The dude ran it too hot at the track and killed the second motor. Cartek decided to help the dude out with a 3rd engine. The harness had issues and the motor leaned out or something. The 3rd motor was torn down for youtube. He just negelected to say how many motors he has had.

So motor 1 blown wth lingerfelter cam install(mind you they are a VERY reputable shop)
then motor 2 blown due to neglengence (if you are going to track a new motor at least watch your gauges)
then motor 3 which I see as the "charity" motor. Blown due to harness having a short in it somewhere(which cartek also repaired for him)
motor 3 breaks and he tears it down and is mad that parts from motor 2 are not there. He then whines to the internet that cartek scammed him and he is a poor pitiful victim.

So once again not trying to defend either. Both sides aren't telling the full truth but the facts should be considered before everyone jumps on the cartek sucks bandwagon
