It's not metal, these cars are meant to go fast and not weigh 2 tons... how the fuck do you guys think they make cars that big weigh 3100lbs? Again, if you have the coin for an 08 Z06 and choose to do shit like that to it, well then you can afford to fix what you fuck up in the process.

On the C6 Z06s, it's a structural composite material they use to 'extend' the use of carbon fibre paneling to reduce weight. Keep in mind, it's not designed to stand up against a tire blowing up right next to it as much as it is more aimed towards reducing the cars overall weight.

IIRC: Supras have aluminum body panels.

 

Funny how it has taken GM years to figure out...oh ya, weight does make cars slower! Honda knew that years ago......which adds to my laughter of watching a shit box honda with a 1.8 turbo 4 banger whomping on a 2008 monster v8 vette....

 

Honda may have figured it out years ago, but it's 2008 and their 'quickest' vehicles make less than 300hp. By the way, I can run 5lbs of boost on my car where it would take 40 something for a 1.8 liter and a ton of cash to stay bumper to bumper w/ me. Maybe 30 if it was a stock vette.
