Im not sure if its sped up, which I dont think it is, but he has a TON of speed and a lot of control to be barely hitting the other guy.

how is soft or no contact sparring gay???
me thinks you have never run through even one kata. That guy has some very very devastating counters. the simple movements done by both people before his counters are done to initiate different attack points.
