Really makes you wonder!......I like the ev1 but it seems like the BIG BADASS AUTO GROUPS A.K.A the big three don't care much about other ideas for cars but to get rid of a so called problem CALLED CHANGE! Other then the one idea that makes them and gas the companies A.K.A towel heads so much money that they lose count year to year gas up and does not stop why? gas companies makes billons a year and the profits for them go up so why does gas price go up as well? If the gas companies make 47 billion in 2005 in profit why does it cost 3.11 for one gallon of gas?

Well the auto makers like GM are corporations, and corp's sole purpose is to make profits. If they are not making profits on the EV-1 they will squash the project. Really there is nothing wrong with that its business. Its just sad the way they did it.

No it is now.....for that price and those payments i'll gladly buy me a four cylinder evolution/impreza wrx

One industry official said that each EV1 cost the company about US$80,000, including research, development and other associated costs.[16] The vehicle's lease prices also depended on available state rebates. At the time of purchase, the cost for the electricity used to power the car was computed to be one-third to half the cost of the equivalent amount of gasoline.[17], and since that time, increases in gas prices may have made electricity relatively even less expensive (depending on customer location, recharging time and electricity billing variations—some utility companies have variable billing for peak vs. non-peak usage rates).
