Ls1 Evo!!!!!
sorry im to lazy to change my avator
Relax fellas.
One small comment, those of you who think there are a lot of evos running around that will beat that car are overconfident in the evo's abilities. There are a few ams,... Depending on the buildup of course, but from what I saw, that setup with s/c could easily be around 800 to the tires

not quite...
everyone knows im a huge DSM fan and fully support building up dsms/evos and they will fuck you up if you know how to build em right. but at the same time everyone also knows that LSX motors are FAR more reliable and are beasts... there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing something different and swapping a V8 into an EVO, because it's original!
ps- Nemes1s your Evo is pretty nasty, I've got a DSM for you to run when he comes down to visit, it would be a pretty close race...

im right with ya on this one, that car is sick! It just needs a drag suspension and slick set up and it will be pulling the tires through the 60 foot!

I bet Joe Shmo can

Another reason why I find no sense in it, is why mod a car to be heavier, then take away its traction advantage. Why, to say you destroyed a beautiful machine to get a wow factor? I just can't make sense of it thats all.
Now if you want a wow factor, this makes sense to me

Very true, look at it this way. You just took away every advantage of the Evo's design. Then you add more weight to it. Now your making 800whp, yes maybe more reliably than Joe shmo with an 800AWHP 4g63 but it means nothing when it can't put it to the ground without being at a track or using VHT.
I bet Joe Shmo can

They didn't take away every advantage of the EVO. They added reliability and probably kept the weight the close to the same(ie. they got rid if the awd). They also gained uniqueness.
U'r right the traction on the street has gone to shit, but like you said, slicks and vht will fix that.

If you start with a chasis that was incapable of reaching such goals on its own and make it accomplish something that it couldn't before... That to me is impressive and unique... And I'm excluding wheel stands

Keep in mind, its just my opinion

Never gonna get traction in that evo with 8 inch rims on the back.. Gonna have to do something to hold the power down.
My opinion is the car has just been made into a burnt out show car... Serves no other purpose.
