yeah i did
they were talking about how to "drive a race car"
thats the point I was trying to make. the only type of car that would be considered a race car with an automatic is a domestic, that is intended for drag racing.
your standard import doesn't have the extra torque to waste on an automatic tranny. and your average import is also built to turn, not just go straight.
because i was getting so much flack for it, i was being sarcastic, and apologizing for my errored ways thinking that the only real race is in a straight line.
But I do have to ask. In most races, the driver plays a very important part. It seems as though in a drag race, the driver's role is much less important. Now that it is standard practice to use automatics, the driver really doesn't seem to do much. Other than push the pedal down.... So my question is, what does the driver actually do? I'm not talking about pro-stock. and funny cars, and rail cars, or anything like that. I'm talking about your "average" drag racer. What makes a good drag race driver, versus a bad one?

It was quite appearant that the car was built to cruise and drag race. How many people do you know use nitrous for road racing?
drag racing sucks
Jk but my car is an import and will be a 5 spd and will have tq but IDK if mine counts. As for her hitting the wall yes she spun it around and "tail-tapped" the wall... its on ricekiller.com but this thread has turned into the average TR rant fuck all thread.

no, no displacement envy. I personally would rather take my 2 liter and outrun, if not, run with all of the v 8s and crap. personal prefference.
I was pointing out that only domestic fans/drivers consider automatics to be sportscars/race cars.
A performance upgrade should be a 5spd (or 6 depending) not a stall converter...
