This was during semis, 1/8th mile you see Blair let off, this is when the motor just started smoking bad, but Jim says that since he didnt see Pappas yet, he just stayed in it. He said he ended up eating a cylinder.
Watch the shoot on pappas' car, it just falls off, both cords apparently were cut perfectly, not like it was ripped or something, strange, never seen anything like that happen before.
