Never doubt the inline5 20 valve motors thats in them.....lots of r&d went into them for rally racing...look at the groupB rally cars they built with the older 10 valve inline5's back in the early 80's....they would run a qualifying pass with the boost turned down at about 600hp,then when the race run happened they would turn it up and push out about they say(pause)820HP!.

The gearboxs are almost indestructable in the older 80's cars especially the 84-87 coupes AKA the quattro coupes,try a full on power doughnut with the front tires smoking in a DSM...ya know what will happen,or maybe you wont till it breaks next.
