Info on the race, seeing is it took place here in Mobile AL.

the viper makes well over 1200 HP, BUT here were the terms of the race

-Viper had to be on 6 or 8psi, i cant remember but it was at right around 700hp
-Viper had to be on street tires, he showed up on 19 inch wheels, and some 305 size tires

-John was basically running his car to the max!


-John melted a piston that night, but at the time he thought it was a head gasket

 

I was out there that night. and heh.. well put the video togeather. The viper was wearing 345 michilen pilots. The race was from a 40mph roll. the second race wasnt caught on tape but Jon gave him the kick and still pulled him pretty hard. They are supposed to hit it up again when Jon gets his other junkyard RB motor in. I think they might try and hit up at the track so traction shouldnt be a issue. I cant wait and when it happens I will be making another vid.

I know that the lowest powered henneseey tt viper available is the venom 800tt-and they guarantee 800whp-So why was that one only making 700 and change? Did they have him turn the boost down to run the Z?

He said he turned the boost down to like 6 I think.. which would make less hp then what he normally runs which is around 8-10 on pump.. at that boost level yeah he is in the 800 range.

1slowCRX,, no its a 280Z. he has the 240Z bumper on the front and shaved rear bumper.

vipers never have impressed me...90k and ur running low 12's...correct me if im wrong...thats sorry as fu**, ok so they look hot but hell...u can make any z car look hot and have more speed along with 50g's back into your pocket

 

look at an NSX, its 90+K and it runs low 13s. there are more to cars the 1/4 mile times.

i'm sorry but the styling on the viper will always look better then a 280z.


the rest of your post is an argument that could be said about any exotic vs anything not an exotic.

its the same as having 85k in a supra or a new F430 and getting walked by a 20k investment in a fox body stang that would make @800whp....
