The black person who uses that term is only making his/her situation worse.
If they truely wanted respect, equal rights or whatever it is they believe they are lacking, they would hold thier head up and not thier hand out, go to (and more importantly, stay in) school, listen and learn, talk right and become a productive member of society.
They have to respect themselves before anybody else can respect them.

What a load of shit!!!
THE WORD IS IGNORANT, THE PERSON WHO USES THE TERM IS IGNORANT.
Why would any race of people want to perpetuate anything that is deemed dergatory toward them.
Case in point:
How many Mexicans do you see refering to each other as SPICKA!
How many Chinese do you see refering to each other as CHINKA!
How many Vietnamese do you see refering to each other as SLOPEA!
The use of the term no matter what context shows lack of education and deficiency in vocabulary. How hard is it to say "friend", "man", "dude", or "other person who shares my heritage and tribulations" instead of the fucking word NIGGA!
The last one is a bit ridiculous but at least it would prove to people that you are not ignorant!!!!1!11!eleven

I told some kid in my weight lifting class pretty much what you said but in different words and he had no reply and just stood there and looked at me with a dumb stare.
nigga ****** chink spik etc etc all derrogatory shit. Like said above, it just broadcasts ignorance from the speaker.
Ignorant students, ignorant teacher, ignorant TR-goers who say its just a word.

Sorry to wax on this subject but growing up in a black community going to majority black schools and being white I have often encounted bias and double standards when I was young and was hanging with my niggaz. I used the term until one day I was assalted by another group of kids that heard me use the term when I was with my group of friends. The kids in my group knew I was down, cool, hip whatever but the other group just saw a white dude using the word.
Since that day I just thought the whole situation was ridiculous
