STi/EVO showdown
Recently we attended a Time Attack Challenge (March 4th and 5th) held by Redline track events and Modified Magazine at California motor Speedway. We had a few Crawford Performance customers show up who were more than eager to see what there cars were capable of. These vehicles included an otherwise stock 2006 STI with a re-programmed ECU, a 2005 Legacy GT with a Crawford LGT CP32 twin scroll turbo kit, a 2005 STI with Crawford S4 package (CP30R turbo kit and accessories), and a 2005 STI with a 2.8L R4 motor with our CP35R turbo kit. Three of the four cars drove to and from the event. The R4 was actually trailored in and out.

The Muellerized R4-CP35R
Quirt's Legacy GT actually drove quite well with his Cusco Zero2R’s. All he needed was better tires and he would have gotten better times.
Much to the amazement of the Sti/S4-CP30R owner, he won his class. Not too shabby for a first time track driver with RE-730s and stock brakes.
The biggest stir of the day was from the Crawford R4-CP35R. Certainly it wasn’t the graphics that got everyone’s attention. Rather it was the fact that the car was haling butt all over the track. In fact the R4 was giving a few people, like the Muellerized EVO, some good competition. This was also the R4’s first time on the track.
The Crawford R4-CP35R ended up running in unlimited class with Hoosiers (245 width) and a mildly tuned suspension, the EVO was running a cool wide body kit with Hoosiers (295-width) and a dialed in suspension by Road Race Engineering's own John Mueller. That EVO is dam fast!
Anyway, here is a small video of some of the action that took place.
