i dont know why more people dont build the KA, i mean its a pretty decent motor, i just think dropping in a "jdm" motor and spending like close to 4 grand or more, and still getting beat by an NA crx is weak!

VID IS KILLER!

because many people that go this route can't afford an sr-swap, do a 1/2 ass job on a turbo kit install for their KA (because say a kit costs 1000 or so compared to 3+K to do the sr). and end up blowing their motor because they didn't do it right.

there are some well done KA-T's from people that take the time to get the right parts and many with EMS's. One of the good things i can say about those that blow their KA...you can get another for dirt cheap from someone that did an sr-swap.

personally, i'd love to pick up a second car and do a KA-T in an s13. Turbo 2.4L would be sweet, lower redline but that's alright, the more torque will cause the powerband to shift slightly to the left anyways. mmm, drool

Go see the nissan forums guys, its been said tooooo many time.
https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/n...infiniti-tech/

KAs bottom ends are good until 300hp, any more, its a ticking time bomb.
Actually all KAs w/o any internal mods are ticking time bombs.

^500hp with the block...sure its possible, but the pistons, rods, etc. arent stock.

thats a classic vid. has jay's old purple s14 from orlando back in the day, and the video on the bridge here in tampa shot in the silver s14 that made 500+hp vs. enthalpy's red s13, and more.

i wont get into the engine argument, its about as old as the honda vs domestic argument, but anything can be done right with money and know-how. my ka probably makes in the area of 330-350 and i've been running it for over a year now, and can bang out mid-low 12s if need be. i probably spent about as much as it takes to a basic sr swap. but whateve...good vid nonetheless.
