Yeah, it looks real coming in, just the dialog and the way they started coughing so quick seemed staged, either that or they were high as fuck

Yeah now I think its faked. looks like they really blew something up then added the fireball later. It looks like the ground explodes before the meteor hits. Plus what is that falling to the ground after the explosion? Prolly a piece of what they where blowing up. Well done either way.

in actuality the ground would explode before the meteor hits. The actualy term slips my mind right now. But its like having 3 sonic booms. They are so close they are compressed. And there is a "wave Front" persay in front of the Meteor that hits the ground first it moves the atmosphere out of the way first soooo fast that it strikes the ground and causes a craiter. I watched a program about the russin meteor that flatened an entire forest. It was soo large it exploded in mid air due to its mass. The trees were flatened outwards from the center of the explosion area. And NOT a piece of the meteor was found intact. So ... It happens. The larger meteor craters are due to actual impact, those would be felt around the world and basicly punches a hole in the atmosphere.
