It is a 996 - but from what I have read (not experienced) the z06 will start running out of brakes, especially on a road course like Sebring - it would probably come down to the driver in the long run though ...

If that is true...just drop a few G's in brakes on the car. You'd still be a head of the Porsche and stop better too.
I've actually witnessed a stock appearing Z06 at Sebring (with a cage) tear apart several of Germany's finest out there at aclub race event. It was cool...and man, it sure sounded sweet too.

z06 is a great handler. The stock brake ducts are good enough to keep the brakes cool assuming you're going around a track at speed - you can easily extend the front ducts to let them cool even better.
