It was a nitrous backfire and that was a peice of body work that flew off the bike.

I have been to that track before, probly like 4 years ago or so.Still got the pitpass on my wall

sidenote, If it was a piston how did it fly through the gas tank and or around the gas tank and into his hand?
It was something else for sure...
