Thats funny ! Well considering They dont need boost to out number a boosted cobra there was no need to build them for it

People go with nitrous because it's cheaper and performs better on ls1's.

Not necessarily just for 1/4 mile, just add more nitrous/stages.
You do understand that engine probably costed way more than the car they put it in right? Money doesn't impress me, results do, and you can't beat nitrous on an ls1.

Gonna keep hitting the nitrous on straight aways on road courses?
MTI 427's are $17k, the procharger is $6k. Vette's are $50k..................... So no, it did not cost more than the car.
The easiest thing to do is obviously build the engine up with forged internals, and then put an insane amount of boost in the engine, and make big HP. For awhile. There are limits to every aspect of forced induction. ls6 make good numbers out of the box with natural aspiration, but a shot is only going to make so much HP for so many runs before you're back to the drawing board looking for more power or looking for your pistons.
Well I have read some part truths. It's kind of hard to compare a LS6 stock motor to a 03 Cobra forged motor. The reason the LS6 is running only 8lbs is because of 10.5:1 compression and not because the LS6 does not take well to boost. The 03 Cobra was built for boost and the LS6 was not. The 03 Cobra has 8.5:1 compression. Now if we make apples to apples. Add a forged 348ci bottom end to the LS6, drop the compression down to say 9.1:1 and boost the LS6 to 19lbs and see those #'s go from 550rwhp to something over 800rwhp.
Also, I would like to address the price of the LS6 blower setup. It's more in the range of 5 to 6k. Not 10 to 12k. If someone paid that much they got ripped. The reason the race was so close was because of the difference in weight between the two cars. Z06 even with a passenger is lighter than a 03 Cobra with no one in it. If I had to do it all over again. I would purchase a 99 FRC and boost the hell out of it..
You get a V8, light car, and good looks. On our local board there is a 408ci C5 with twin turbos only boostin 13lbs and it makes 1100rwhp. Imagine that car locally...
