replacement for displacement??? only on a road course!!! in a drag race there is no replacement. That is why that saying exists. and why ALL the NHRA fastest cars are huge V8's

I don't know if I would say replacement for displacement, remember, these cars were V12's at one time when the rules allowed it.
They are getting the most out of what the rules allow, which means approaching 20K rpms by using pneumatically actuated valves in a small displacement opposed aluminum V10s.
F1 is the ultimate in motorsport.

Incidentally, you could run an entire NHRA season for the price of one customer Ferrari F1 motor. :o I love what Formula One once was and marvel at the insanely expensive exercise it has become.
