I am SURE his car does not weigh 2900 lbs also. You can't argue dynamics and gravity. It takes X HP and X torque to get X amount of weight moving. It does not matter if it is an RX-7 or not.

I could drop another .3 by losing 200+ lbs.

How much do you think the car weighs? Dynamics and gravity isn't all that matters. Your power curve and gearing have alot to do with it as well. If a car is 3000lb(with driver) it takes 450rwhp to break 10s with slicks or possibly drag radials. Only weight reduction most RX7 guys do is drop the air pump, power steering and lighter exhaust and wheels. Not too much usually. Some harder core guys get rid of the ac(not me in FL ), interior items(or all of it), take bumper supports off, etc. We're both talking rear wheel HP, right?

What hurts the supras I think, is the fact that they only get their peak horsepower at like the last few hundred RPMs or so.

 

I believe an 89 RX-7 weighs 2900+driver. Acorrding to this.

No we are talking flywheel HP. (well the calculators are)

 

You are about right with the weight, except the series 5 TII weighed more than the FD; more around 3000. The S4 TII weighed around 2850 or so.

And anytime I talk about horsepower, I refer to wheel HP. Sorry, its a habit. If you look at my calculator, it uses wheel HP:

OK then with YOUR calc - at 3150 (2900+driver) 390 HP puts you mid 11's not 10's. Thank you for, finally, agreeing with me.

Virtual engine calculator says my car will run a 14.66 giving myself a very generous 205hp to the wheels, and weighing 3200lbs with driver.

I run high 13s on street tires.
I also run high 8s in the 1/8th mile, and it says i should be running 9.4.

So I wouldn't believe anything a calculator would tell ya, too many variables.
