So I was reading through the net and I came across this tutorial on retro fitting 09 GTI headlights and sticking them in an 09 Jetta.

How to swap and retrofit OEM VW GTI GLI HID xenon lights into your car

I would be interested in doing this if you can confirm or deny that this swap can be performed. It looks like from that site that it's a straight trade of housing units no? I would much rather use OEM GTI headlights instead of just some casing in halogen, but not if I have modify the front end etc...

Not familiar with this. Just remember the OEM HID headlights are quite expensive. Probably $1000+ for the set.

What about swapping in GLI headlights, looks almost the same?
