richloam? where do you go?
went to richloam for the first time yesterday. it was dry for the most part and we didn't see another soul out there. is there a ranger station somewhere out there and or is it free to just drive in and drive around? if it wasn't we did that anyways. haha
my question is where are you suppose to go for the good places to wheel? how do you not get lost in that place. on our gps only some of the roads are marked but most are not. we just barley made it back to the main road after dipping of to go down a couple of the FR roads.

Technically it's illegal to go out there, so no, you won't find a Rangers station. The cops rarely come out there, and if they do it's usually at night because that's when there's trouble out there.
Richloam wise, Its best to print the map off the Florida WMA site, Its pretty good as far as the roads and trails. You wont find a Ranger station out there that im aware off, Only thing close to that would be the weight in station, But i could be wrong. Also you can pretty much wheel pretty much every where. Just stay away during hunting season.
To be there:
Street legal (no atvs etc)
Stay on the trails and out of private or marked areas
Technically if your in a group of more than 3 you need a permit which all you do is go to the station by the fish hatchery on 471 and they give you one np.
Don't litter/ don't even have beer out there
The west side (small side) is dryer and more people are on. The other side of 471 has some harry spots.
All that being said we go out in huge groups all the time with tons of beer underage etc and if you don't trash the place or mess shit up they don't bother you.
Sorry, I was thinking Rancho for some reason.
I would recommend staying away from Richloam during hunting season (typically October thru January, but you can find exact dates online). We took our buggies out there once and the hunters were not very pleasant. We had much better luck in Ocala during hunting season.
