Default first 98 f-150 build

nobody wanted to read or reply in fords "the projects" forum so im posting this here

this my first time working on an F-150, the owner wanted to fix a water leak, but we didnt stop there.

This is hopefully going to be a work truck so were thinking that we should shoot for gasmileage through horsepower

since we had to take the intake mani off to fix the leak from that gasket, we decided to have it ported and polished at jeffs speed shop in brandon. We are also putting in an upgraded cooling system with new water pump hoses and a big radiator and need suggestions of good brands for the radiator.

Not stopping there either, we have decided to port and polish the heads, also at jeffs, im going to be posting pics as they come now more often, we got the intake mani, plenum spacing and valve covers off at the moment and are about to get the timing chain cover off, just one more accesory pulley and a couple cover bolts.

when the engine gets put back together were going to finish up with the msd ignition coils, new fuel injectors, spark plugs and wires, intake, headers and exhaust also.

suspension has been talked about, maybe lowering it

so, questions are
1. good brand for bigger radiator and if hoses come with?
2. should we also have the plenum spacer ported and polished or is there a upgraded version?
3. shortcuts, read somewhere that the stock intake system could be modified somehow, i dont think were trying to go cheap but shortcuts and free power cant be beat also.
4. good brands for all these parts we need and if im forgeting something would make for some more power since we got the heads off already without doing cams, rods, cranks or pistons.

any advice is going to be welcomed. ive been wanting to tear apart an engine bigger than a civics for a while

and im still trying to figure out how to post pics the right way if u can help with that
