Default Input on- Dodge Dakota

I'm looking for another truck. Mostly for A to B transportation and to pull my 16' flats boat a few times a week, price range of about $2500. A couple of people I know have early 90's models, one v6/ one v8, and both like them pretty well.

Any TRuck experts kind enough to share their thoughts or experiences?

Thanks!

Oops! I accidentally posted this with the name I use to lurk on TF.

Again, thanks in advance for any input or advise you could share. It is appreciated.

I'm surprised you were able to get out the store with that big "SUCKER" sign affixed to your back.

My parents have owned two and I have owned one. None of those 3 have ever let us down. My dad had a 94 V6 that went 140k miles before he sold it. It looked like crap but still ran fine, and he doesn't really do preventative maintenance either. He sold it because my mom got a Charger and turned over her 98 V6 to him. He now has 140k miles on it and it still drives fine and pulls small/medium trailers regularly.

We have a 2000 quad cab with the 4.7. It has over 70k miles and has had no issues.

The only thing we've replaced on any of these trucks is the fuel pump (one each). They made noise, but never left us stranded.

They are easy to work on, parts are fairly priced, and they are nice and roomy inside. They are a great alternative to a true full size truck but still get decent gas mileage and can tow decent loads.

id get the v8 one not much difference in gas. I think the 4.7s feel a bit more peppy than the old 5.2s. But 4.7s didnt come till around the late 90s

I had a 1998 dak with the 4cyl and 5-speed.

It was slow, and not very roomy (standard cab) but it was a good little truck, i miss it sometimes.
