what other plans? upgrading the axles? lift? etc?

 

first and foremost is doing the bodywork and redoing the front floor. It's already got a 3" body lift, but I'm sure at some point we will raise it up. We'll be going with bigger tires as well. The ones that came on it are shot. This is my first mud truck, and Chevy for that matter, so he'll be in charge but teaching me along the way. He's got an 89 Suburban as well.

 

If its simply a mud truck i would bother wasting money or time on the body, i would spend it on gettin in the mud and having fun!

 

Well, we wanna stop the rust from getting worse. Plus I want it to look at least half way decent. The front floor has to be replaced or there won't be seats eventually

Cant seem to find something decent near me.. I found a tempo last night.. Electric pus button 4x4... I have never seen that on a tempo before... crazy....

yeah the tops are removable.

 

And it looks pretty danm badass with them off aswell...that 305 with some 400 head.s and a nice carb combo would be a cheap and easy way to make a tiny bit more power outa that little ole 305....I have a spare 4 barrel for it if you are interested in it...good luck with it ...I hope its a fun project for you guys... Mine only has 88xx miles and has never seen a puddle.....

 

It came with an Edlebrock carb which looks pretty new. There's a ton of room under the hood, I'll have to get some pics tonight. And my only complaint with the top is I wish it had the ones that slide open on the side.

 

awesome score! Id go to the junk yard, rip a 454 from a caddy and slap it in there. BB > small block.

 

old thread but no caddy ever came with a 454, maybe try a chevy
