tacoma help!
I just got a 02 tacoma prerunner last week and i have 4 issues....
(2.7 liter Auto 2wd)
1) The tranny has a whine to it, like a super charger sound. The ATF looks nice and red and does not smell burnt or anything, the tranny was just flushed and refilled a few months ago and the truck shifts fine with no issues.. its just that damn annoying whine.
Should i be concerned? Someone said try amsoil.. or something like that.
2)The truck idles high, like 1800 rpm or so ... i read it might be the TPS. any feed back?
3) Check engine light, P1135 air fuel sensor...seems to run just fine tho
4) AC Commpressor squeals but AC still blows ice cold, dont believe its the belt, could be ac clutch? who know
should i be worried about anyof these issues

easy fix.....
1. sell the taco prerunner
2. buy a 4x4
hope this helps...
but forreal
1.the gears might be fuck3d in the tranny
2.replace the sensor
3.don't worry about the a/c until it shits out on you...(fixing the a/c is $$$)

1. I dont think the gears are fuck3d because it still shift fine with no issues
2. Im working on replacing the sensor soon
3. The ac still blows cold just noise so ill wait it out

changing fluid is just a bandaid. it wasnt built with a whine. sounds like input bearing or the sort. how sure are you its the tranny? hard to diagnose sounds over computers.
the sensor is what is most likely throwing off your idle. change it out.
does the ac always squeal? just when ac is on? when clutch engaged/disengaged?
why'd you buy a prerunner
just dont worry about any of these things and get rid of the truck. theres tons of 4wd toyotas out there in very good condition.

Yep X3 on selling it and getting a 4x4,...lol
Tranny is the only one I would be worried about,..Like DZ said,..Maybe one of the bearings in there,...

well it whines when i put it gear.. might be my torque converter.. who the hell knows..
im gonna drive it til it goes out and just buy a new one if it does.. there a dime a dozen im told
