lifting an 05 nissan frontier
ok I really havn't searched the web too much so don't bash me for this question. But I just bought an 05 nissan frontier 2-wheel drive. I was wanting to put some 31's or 33's on it and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of lifts are available and which i should get.
I went to a shop and they told me nothing was out for new frontiers. I was thinking about getting blocks or something instead of an actual shocks and all lift kit.
any info will help....thanks

best bet is body lift..why are you lifting a 2wd? what will be its purpose? if you just want it to look good..go with a body lift..

Yeah I bought the truck to be a 4 cyl gas saver but I just wanted to make it look a little better. I was thinking body lift as a last resort. How hard are they to put on? I have been told its not fun.
OK guys I have searched a little and found that most places only sell the leveling/ block kits. So what do you all think about this kit?
PerformanceLifts.com -- PRG 2005-2007 Frontier Lift Kit - 2wd & 4wd
It says you can go up to 33' tires so I figure this kit and some 31's will look pretty good.

you want a 4-banger fuel saver, but you want larger over-sized tires and an increased (lifted) profile...?
whatever...that's your deal body, lift sounds like the best bet, not too tough to install. You could check out Cal-mini for some sweet desert-style stuff, but that can get kinda pricey...
good luck and post up what you do for future reference...

when you bump up the tire size without re-gearing..you lose gas mileage..body lift is your best bet..it will look good..you dont change anything..

yeah i'm not wanting to put too big of tires on it. so I figured it wouldn't hurt gas mileage too much. Plus I'm comming from a 12mpg durango, so I can afford to loose 1 or 2 mpg to make it look decent. But thanks for the input guys, and I'll check out that cal-mini thing
I'd figure on lossing at least 2 mpg with that setup. Your going to strain the heck out of the 4 banger. If you go bigger get a tire like a Goodyear Wrangler AT/S as they are not as hard to turn as say a BFG Mud Terrain or Bogger which have huge voids and lots of rolling resistance.
Yeah I was looking to get something like a real agressive looking radial. No super swampers or anything like that. I just need a truck and I can't have one looking all stock and low
