Default jeep head gaskit question

i just bought a jeep cherokee for a really good deal he told me the head gasket is blown between the cyl he sid it blew the bottom radiator hose off when it over heated i was wondering if it could be the radiator cloged up or if it sounds like its a head gasket to someone else too

because i would hate to go through the trouble of changing the head gasket and it not be that

Could be lots of things. Easiest way to check that radiator is pull the cap and either the bottom hose or the petcock and put a water hose into the top and see if water flows out of the bottom.

You have two problems going on though. First the headgasket and second what happened when it over heated? I would do a compression check before yanking the head.

Its an easy head to do at least. I did one a month or so ago on a 99 wrangler. But yea, do a compression, a leak down, then they sell a combustion gas tester for the coolant
