Default Grand Cherokee overheating.

My sisters jeep is overheating. It started as just when the A/C was on during idle. Now it's overheating more often and sometimes while driving. Turning the heat on was alleviating the problem but not anymore.

I was thinking possibly the thermostat. Any other ideas?

you could have a coolant leak. Possibly internal. What motor is it and how many miles? Could be headgasket.

better look for bubbles to help rule out the head\s first.
fan clutch?\ air flow
low on coolent issues \leaks
flush coolent?(dirty clogged)
intake leak? (lean)
timing?
coolent hose sucking closed
thermostat stuck\moving slow
water pump bad
belt loose
exaust clogged
any new mods ?
