I personally would not buy an '07, especially for offroading...there's just too many creature comforts which means more things to break. That may prove to be wrong in a couple years...but I'd hate to be the guinea pig. It really all depends on just how much offroading you plan on doing vs. highway driving.
I havent really check out the 07's, I just noticed they had a V6 instead of the 4.0. How much can I tow, I didnt even think about that before. I have a 3200lb car that I need to tow.

edit: seriously, if you just want to get a 4WD truck to go bash through the woods, I would really suggest something older. The aftermarket is endless (if you plan to go that route) and they were built really stong to start. As you can see, I'm a little partial, but jeeps are awesome, or even an old chevy 1-ton would be cool. Either way, electronics are your enemy, in my opinion, the older stuff is simpler and easier to "beat, fix, repeat"
I would, but I want something I can comfortably drive everyday and tow my car to and from the track.

Email pics to me when you get some, I'd really like to check it out Boosted95SVT@Yahoo.com.

I'm starting to think the Rubicon might not be a good choice if I cant tow my car. I guess I might end up with a Power Wagon or maybe a 4WD 2500 Dodge.

Thanks for the pics

I wouldnt touch a newer Ford diesel. My friends 04 6.0L F250 is sitting at Brandon Ford right now cuz it wont start and they cant fix it. It has 35K miles on it and is on motor #2. The only diesel I would ever own is a Cummins or MAYBE an older 7.3L Ford but thats it. I dont really need a diesel so I'm not gonna risk owning one.

If you need to tow a car often, a Wrangler may not be for you. It would be ok for here and there...short distances; but with such a short wheelbase, they really aren't a good tow vehicle. In that case though, I'd definetly stick to the Unlimited...which is the longer version.

I'd be towing to Sebring and Bradenton. I think I'm gonna get a truck for sure.

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it

dont know what Rubicons are SUPPOSED to be able to tow but i DO know that i personally pulled an f250 through sugar sand the day after I bought my 04; it had 30k miles on it at the time and was entirely stock. my buddy has an older boxy ass f250 and he got stuck when we were on our way out to a trail on this really bad dirt road and i had to pull him about 30-40 yards through the sugar sand portion since it was apparent he wasnt getting through it on his own. jeep didnt overheat or anything and it was done using the stock hook on the rear of the frame, no hitch or anything.

ps - ive got 35s and didnt need to regear; gotta love those 4.11s hahaha I also hit a fuckin' tree and got it stuck while submerged in muddy water (which fawked the clutch and throwout bearing) within 2 weeks of buying it. i like owning a newer one that wasnt abused before me cuz I know who made all the scratches and I have stories to go along with them.

pics of it stock;

First off, we're talking about actual towing...as in trailering. Not just pulling someone out from being stuck. Big difference.

Second, 35's on 4.11's do need to be regeared...prefereably to 4.88's. Is it an absolute necessity, probably not, but it would make quite a difference.

How built of one are you looking for? A friend of mine may be selling his. 04 Rubicon, PSC cage, Warn lock out hubs, upgraded shafts, 6 or 8" Long arm lift, skids, 37" Krawlers, TR beadlocks, bumpers, winch, etc... Bought and built to wheel, not a perfect body but good shape.
